Carved figure of a hare
late Shang - early Western Zhou dynasty (12th-11th century BC)
length 3.0cm height 2.0cm
Mottled translucent green nephrite jade pendant with areas of calcification and traces of red pigment. Carved in the form of a crouching hare in silhouette, with one side flat and reverse gently curved. A conical perforation is drilled from one side.
